Welcome to the ToneTool project. Here you will find all information and latest downloads.
ToneTool 0.3.2
I've released additional version of ToneTool - 0.3.2. This release fixes two bugs reported by users:
- Morse code letter B is encoded as A
- DTMF pause duration setting has no effect
Additionally you will have a nice application splashscreen and Select-5 address book.
ToneTool 0.3 beta
I've just released version 0.3 of ToneTool. Major changes include:
*Addressbook for DTMF - you can create predefined sequences, store it under arbitrary name and load at any time. Nice feature to keep all your EchoLink node numbers in one place :).
*Morse code - transmit any text using morse code sequence with configurable WPM speed. This is very experimental version as many phones (especially Nokia) have brain-damaged Java implementation.
*Select5 sequence can now have up to 15 digits including pauses (',' character - pause duration is equal single tone duration time).
First APRS experiments
During development of ToneTool, I came across an idea of generating FSK sequences using mobile phone speaker. I made some experiments in generating RTTY but this turned out to be impractical - mobile phones are slow, and so is generating sinusoidal waveforms. When it comes to creating DTMF or Select-5 it's ok - you have to wait usually 0,5-1 second before sequence can be played. But RTTY transmissions can last minutes - there is no processing power nor RAM memory to create and store it. And probably no one needs RTTY transmitter limited to 160 characters ;).
ToneTool 0.2 beta :)
First publicly available version of ToneTool has been finally released :). You can get it under "Download" section.
